Celebrating the rebel heroines of the Greek myths and the women who write about them through original audio drama, poetry, book, theatre and film reviews and interviews with fellow fans. The somewhat toxic heroes of the ancient world take a step back as we delve into the stories of the women who shaped their destinies. Episode One: Ariadne

In this introductory episode I tell you about how I discovered Greek Mythology and what it means to me and we meet our first rebel heroine, my favourite: Ariadne. Princess of Crete, sister to the Minotaur, abandoned wife of Theseus and beloved wife of my favourite Greek god, Dionysus. I share some original poetry inspired by Ariadne and Dionysus and give you some great book recommendations to learn more about this extraordinary woman and how her story is still relevant to modern times, touching on themes of sexual awakening, empowerment, and embracing your wild side. Content warning: strong language, mild explicit content, references to violence towards women.
