Celebrating the rebel heroines of the Greek myths and the women who write about them through original audio drama, poetry, book, theatre and film reviews and interviews with fellow fans. The somewhat toxic heroes of the ancient world take a step back as we delve into the stories of the women who shaped their destinies. If you like your myths seen through a feminist lens, enjoy inventive and relatable adaptations of the classics such as the novels of Natalie Haynes and Madeline Miller and agree that the original Clash of the Titans movie still rocks, this is the podcast for you. https://twitter.com/rebel_heroines

Episode Seven-The Sorceresses

In this episode we meet the witches, enchantresses and all round magical women of Greek Mythology. Unpacking Hekate, Circe, Medea, the Sirens and the Bacchae, we explore why these powerful women were ostracised and condemned for using their natural gifts to protect themselves. Includes an extract from my Ariadne and Dionysus audio drama Wild and poetry by Claire Tedstone. Content warning: references to child murder.
