Hebrews 1 - 2:4

The book of Hebrews delivers a powerful message that Jesus is better than any alternative, encouraging believers not to abandon their faith during hardship. Written to first-century Jewish Christians tempted to return to religious practices, Hebrews contrasts religion (perform, then receive) with relationship with Jesus (receive, because Jesus already performed everything). The opening chapter reveals Jesus as the Word of God, Creator, Sustainer of all things, the one who paid for our sins, and who now sits on the throne advocating for us.
