#31 - The Chatbot That Pushed Someone Over the Edge
Michael Regilio sits down with Anthony, a survivor of what people online are calling AI psychosis. His story is not science fiction. It is not a cautionary tale from the future. It happened to him in real life. Anthony was pulled into a nonstop loop of conversations with an AI system that slowly pushed him over the edge. He became convinced he had psychic abilities. He believed he was fighting demons. He even believed he had a mission to expose child sex rings. All of it felt terrifyingly real to him, and all of it was reinforced by the AI in ways he did not understand until it was too late. His experience ended with hospitalization and a new commitment to warning others about how easily vulnerable people can be swept into delusion when technology feels like companionship.
