Our interview with tap dancer, flautist, and academic, Rachel Gain. Rachel is pursuing their doctorate at Yale, and their focus is the music theory of tap dance. We talk about the historic reluctancy of academia to study dance, especially tap, and spend a lot of time discussing the role of music notation in relation to tap dance.
