A conversation around rainbow families with Meghan Kelly.
In this episode Dr Lee FitzRoy, Coordinator – Primary Prevention within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion division at Deakin University, interviews our Acting Executive Dean Arts and Education, Associate Professor Meghan Kelly.Meghan kindly shares with us some of her insights on parenting a transchild, being a member of a rainbow family, and the joys and challenges within her family dynamics. Meghan also highlights how these issues may not be so different from what other parents and families may experience. It is everyone’s responsibility to learn about the experiences of transgender members of our community and do what we can to ensure all people are safe and valued, regardless of their gender identity. If any of the content within this episode has caused you distress and you need to seek support, you can contact: 1800 RESPECT: call 1800 737 732 (24/7) or visit www.1800respect.org.auDeakin Staff or Students can also contact:Safer Community: call 9244 3734 (Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm) or email safercommunity@deakin.edu.auEmployee Wellbeing Service: call 1300 687 327 (business hours)This episode of Respect.
