Self-righteousness can lead to strained relationships, as it fosters a judgmental and unforgiving attitude that creates conflict and resentment.
SEVEN DANGERS OR CONSEQUENCES OF SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS
1. You will Establish your own Order of Righteousness. Self-righteousness is not true righteousness, it is a demonic form of righteousness. And it does not lead to a transformed life that reflects God's character. There are Christians who walk about establishing their own order of righteousness according to what they think is right (Romans 10:1-3).
2. Separation from God Self-righteousness will cut you off from God completely. Whenever you disobey God’s word you have left the righteousness of God to walk in your own righteousness and the danger is that, you are completely cut off or separated from God (Genesis 3:8-13, 22-24, Genesis 4:8-16, Colossians 1:21).
