Prudence Cummings Wright (1740–1823) was a notable figure in American history, particularly during the Revolutionary War era. She was born in Massachusetts and married David Wright, a farmer and militia leader. She famously thwarted a British attack on her town of Pepperell by alerting the militia in time.
