Alana Levy: Kicking With Confidence and Only 7 Seconds to Spare

Peter Bromka and Lindsey Hein sit down with Alana Levy, who ran 2:36:53 at the Chicago Marathon and punched her ticket to the 2028 Olympic Trials. Alana’s progression over the past few years has been remarkable: she broke three hours, then 2:50, and now has taken another eight minutes off her time to reach a new level. She reflects on attending the 2024 Trials not with disappointment but with genuine inspiration, an experience that shaped her training and mindset heading into this fall.

A member of Brooklyn Track Club, Alana talks about racing across a variety of distances in the New York running scene, finding confidence in different race environments, and learning how to build momentum one season at a time. Her story is grounded, joyful, and full of forward motion — a look at what’s possible when patience, progression, and community come together.
