Antonia Brico, a 24-year-old woman from the Netherlands, moved to the United States with her parents as a child. She dreams of becoming a conductor, but no one takes her seriously. Even her piano teacher advises her not to try for the conservatory. With nothing to lose, Antonia returns to the Netherlands and asks the famous conductor Mengelberg to teach her. He refuses and sends her to Berlin, where she surprisingly has a better chance as a woman. After two years at the State Academy of Music, she becomes the first woman to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. But her happiness is tested when the man she loves puts her in a tough situation. But just as her career takes off, the love of her life forces her to face an impossible choice. What will Antonia’s next move be?
