
Since its release, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie - Infinity Castle has become the highest-grossing Japanese movie of all time. With this in mind, there's one milestone fans of the biggest and most successful modern Shonen battle anime have been hoping it would reach: becoming the first anime movie ever to gross over one billion dollars.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has broken records at the box office, but not in the way fans had hoped. Per Oricon, the sequel to 2020's Mugen Train has officiallybecome the first-ever Japanese film to gross over 100 billion Yen, or 647 million dollars, at the global box office. Specifically, Infinity Castle has grossed approximately 106 billion Yen, or 688 million dollars.
