This week’s message is “Joy Beyond Words” as we walk through Luke 2:8–21 in the Third Week of Advent.
On a snow day, with church remote and the pastor under the weather, we were reminded that JOY is not anchored in our circumstances, but in our Savior. We look at the shepherds in the fields near Bethlehem, the angel’s “good news of great joy,” and the heavenly host praising God as Jesus — the Savior, Christ the Lord — enters our world.
In this episode we talk about the difference between happiness and true, biblical joy:
• Happiness rises and falls with what’s happening around us
• Joy is rooted in who Jesus is and what He has done
• Joy can exist even alongside sorrow because our salvation is secure in Him
As we light the rose-colored candle of Joy in this third week of Advent, we remember that every heart is invited to “prepare Him room” and rejoice that the King has come.
