In addition, It will share how professionals in athletics play a role in developing the next generation of athletes based on their discipline. The vision is to develop a network of information, staff, and connections that can help athletic departments grow as a unit vs. working in silos.

Palmer Johnson, Head MBB Strength and Conditioning Coach at Drexel University

Palmer Johnson was named Drexel’s Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for basketball in September of 2023. Johnson came to Drexel after working with the men’s basketball team at the @Illinois1867 . He brings experience in many phases of sport performance, including strength and conditioning, nutrition and education. Prior to arriving in Philadelphia, Johnson was an assistant performance coach for the University of Illinois men’s basketball team from 2020-2023. Johnson was responsible for implementing the yearly strength & conditioning program as well as creating and running the nutrition program for the Fighting Illini. During his time in Illinois Johnson was a part of two Big Ten championship teams,including the Big Ten Tournament in 2021 and a regular season championship in the 2021-22 season. Johnson spent two years (2018-20) as the Director of Performance Nutrition for the  @mizzou  Football Program. In that capacity, he was responsible for providing performance nutrition education and resources to the Tiger football team.    Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from  @westchesteruniversityathle7789  in 2014. He completed a Master’s of Science degree in exercise physiology with an emphasis in sports nutrition at  @FloridaState  2015.
