On Liars and Cheats and "Journey to Ixtlan" by Carlos Castaneda

The book "Journey to Ixtlan" and life of Carlos Castaneda inspired in me a deep wound of being disappointed by someone not being who they pretended to be.

It send me on a deep philosophical introspective journey through writings of Joseph Campbell, Friedrich Nietzsche, Marcel Proust, David Graeber and Georges Bataille and somehow it made complete sense when put in perspective of Don Juan and Carlos Castaneda.

00:00:00 - 00:02:36 - Introduction

00:02:36 - 00:04:41 - It doesn’t feel good to be tricked

00:04:41 - 00:11:37 - Agricultural revolution, birth of morality and Nietzsche

00:11:37 - 00:15:41 - the ups and downs of learning about Journey to Ixtlan

00:15:51 - 00:21:43 - who was Carlos Castaneda

00:21:43 - 00:39:40 - “Journey to Ixtlan”

00:39:40 - 00:54:19 what it means to live outside of moral code

00:54:19 - 00:55:32 - What’s coming up for Sadhana and Books
