Even though presently, the believer's body still has a sinful nature, in the future, the believer's body is going to be redeemed with the same type of bodily resurrection that Christ had. All parts of the Trinity are involved in this resurrected body. Our resurrection is guaranteed because: 1) Paul's repetitious way of writing in verse 11, 2) what God starts He finishes (Phil 1:6), 3) we are no longer in Adam but in Christ and will experience what Christ experienced (Rom 5), 4) Christ is the first fruits of that which is to come, and the next resurrection is that of the believers (1 Cor 15:20-23), and 5) our deliverance of sin and consequences would not be complete apart from the resurrection of the body (Rom 8:22-23). The body will be raised and changed with a recognizable identity. This is our heritage and our glorious future!
