Remembering 1963: Sixty Years Later, Part 1
Let me take you back, ’cos we’re goin’ to 1963...with two of the most respected journalists of the year, London Daily Express foreign correspondent, Ivor Davis (author of The Beatles and Me on Tour) and Westinghouse Network journalist, Art Schreiber (author of Out of Sight). Both were there on the scene...and because of their prominence were chosen to tour with The Beatles the following year. But what led up to the rise of The Beatles in America in early ’64? We’ll talk about that...about Vietnam, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and some of the year’s biggest events. Lots of great photos of TV shows, stars, and events that made 1963 so singular. Hosted by Bob Wilson of ”Don’t Pass Me By” (also on Podbean) and half of the ”She Said She Said” team, Jude Southerland Kessler of The John Lennon Series, this is a special show with two primary sources who WERE THERE for each of these events. Enjoy! Thank you to Lanea Stagg of The Recipe Records Series for letting us post this on the SSSS page!
