We are the Choir of Our Lady of the Rosary in the parish of St. John, on the island of Barbados. Ours is a vibrant and active music ministry and we have created this podcast to focus on the psalms in the Catholic liturgy. Most of the musical settings are original compositions and we feel that they reflect the rhythm and flavour of our Caribbean culture. Our hope is that through this podcast we can share our love of the psalms with a wider global community.

Responsorial Psalm 44(45):11-12,14-17 for the feast of St. Cecilia - Listen, O Daughter, Give Ear To My Words
In celebration of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians and singers.   Behold, now she follows the Lamb who was crucified for us, powerful in virginity, modesty her offering, a sacrifice on the altar of chastity.   Responsorial Psalm 44(45):11-12,14-17   Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.   Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words: forget your own people and your father’s house. So will the king desire your beauty: He is your lord, pay homage to him.   Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.   The daughter of the king is clothed with splendour, her robes embroidered with pearls set in gold. She is led to the king with her maiden companions.   Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.   They are escorted amid gladness and joy; they pass within the palace of the king. Sons shall be yours in place of your fathers: you will make them princes over all the earth.   Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words.   The English translation of Psalm Responses from Lectionary for Mass © 1969, 1981, 1997, International Commission on English in the Liturgy Corporation.
