The mix also includes very good 2015 remasters of Drexciyan classics Wavejumper and Black Sea. Another reason to make the special was the mainstream attention that afrofuturism and black science fiction gathered in 2018 with the release of Marvel's Black Panther. To accentuate the afrofuturist content I originally planned to play (but managed to mess it up) Shifted Phases' Crossing the Sun-Ra Nebula, an homage to space jazz artist Sun Ra, an innovator of afrofuturism through his cult movie Space Is The Place.
