Today's episode is a little different, I recently read a book by Jennie Allen, called find your people. And I really enjoyed the message and so I wanted to share some of my insights with you all.
This book talked all about finding (and letting go of) people in your life. With social media and phones, we are more connected than ever before, and yet at the same time, we are more isolated than ever before. We’re often tempted to do life alone, whether because we’re so busy or because relationships feel risky and hard. Loneliness can be a debilitating struggle, as people isolate themselves even further to avoid rejection. I know I have over the last couple of years, felt more isolated. I mean, as an introvert, I have still felt like I didn’t get enough interpersonal connections or enough community with the people around me. And so what about the extroverts out there listening, you’re in an even worse position. What I have learned over the years, is that you can’t design a life that really matters without a community of people supporting each other. In Find Your People, Jennie Allen draws on fascinating insights from science and history along with vulnerable stories from her own life.
