A podcast centred around discussing the real issues that have affected the Somali diaspora & avoiding false narratives that have stopped progressive conversations from taking place for many years. We aim to speak about the problems that have weakened us since our parents migrated to the West in the 90's. We hope that, through this platform, we can share both our and your voices & opinions on what can be done to improve the outlook of the community now - and tomorrow. Overcoming hurdles with a new perspective.

1.10 - Inspiring the Leaders of Tomorrow

It's safe to admit our societies troubles in trying to connect with & understand the younger generation, all whilst providing them with the level of care and support they need in order to aspire to be something else; something greater than they could ever have imagined.

Our former host Jacfar enters the fray once again with close friend Abdiaziz - both of whom run As Sunnah Youth in the heart of North London - and they share their experiences in their goal to cultivate the community. We discuss the following:

- The reasons for them working together in order to establish a successful youth centre

- The logistics behind running services for young Somalis

- The long-term vision & their definitions of success

- Possible reasons for the disconnect between the elder and younger generations
