The tunnels quickly turn hostile. Shambling masses of roots and refuse rise from the muck, joined by massive cockroach-like creatures that swarm from the shadows. Steel clashes, spells ignite, and brute force carries the party through brutal encounters as they fight to hold their ground in the filth. Every step deeper reveals signs that the corruption has been festering for far longer than anyone feared.
Pressing onward, the Nildorin navigate collapsed passages, flooded drops, and branching tunnels that force dangerous choices. Arcadis leads careful scouting efforts as green lightning crackles through hidden chambers, echoing with haunting wails that draw the party closer to the source. The sewer is no longer just a passageway - it feels alive, angry, and aware of their presence.
At the heart of the corruption, the party encounters a weakened woman bound to a floating green tome radiating cursed energy. She recognizes Nemiea instantly, her voice filled with fury and desperation before she attacks without warning. As battle erupts, it becomes clear this is no random monster, but a warning of what the tomes can do when twisted by unchecked power.
