Washington State Universitys cross country team had a remarkable performance at the NCAA championships. On the womens side, Rosemary Longisa finished 27th in the 6,000m race, setting a personal best of 19:44.6 and earning All-America distinction. This marked the womens teams first national championship appearance since 1985. The mens team placed 17th, and the womens team finished 27th, showcasing a strong showing for the Cougars. Meanwhile, Whitworth Universitys London Haley and Lily Jones competed in the Division Three championships.
