Today's guest is Scott O’Neil, who is well known as the Chief Executive Officer for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, who owns both the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils.
With more than 20 years of experience in the NBA, NHL and NFL, O’Neil has earned a reputation as one of the sports' industry's greatest leaders. In just six years as CEO, O’Neil led the Philadelphia 76ers to sign the first jersey patch sponsorship in “Big Four” sports history, the creation of their industry-leading Innovation Lab and led the team as they become the first sports franchise to acquire a world-renowned esports team.
His new book, “Be Where Your Feet Are" is a repository of the life and career lessons he learned the hard way and the inspiration to write came after his father died and his best friend committed suicide. During the episode, we chat about some of the lessons from his book, how he got his career started and what's next for the industry-leading executive.
