Mary Ellen Ciganovich speaks R.E.A.L. Truth and it matters! Diagnosed with epilepsy as a 6 year old, Mary Ellen was told to hide it and pretend nothing was wrong with her. Laws on the books "back then" held that she couldn't get married or have children. Ministers preached that the devil was in folks, like her and that made her ANGRY. However, not wanting to get into the victim mode, which might have been easier for her, she stayed determined to love herself and other more. She realized that the words she chose to use mattered and the way she spoke mattered - and MANNERS matter. Mary Ellen did marry and have a baby and she asked GOD for one thing - don't let my child get "it" and then WHAM, came the diagnosis. Mad at GOD now? Change the perception and get a 2nd opinion. If those trials weren't enough Mary Ellen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 38 and she's been a true survivor ever since. Mary Ellen reminds us to "Be R.E.A.L - Really Enthusiastic About Life - because being R.E.A.L. leads you to live your Truth, find your passion, and our purpose to make our world just a little bit better."
