Ep. 69: Jails, SWAT, and a 3,000-Mile Bike Quest: LA County Sheriff Sgt. George Creamer (retired)
Retired L.A. County Sheriff Sergeant George Creamer recounts his 32-year career, from growing up in rural Wyoming to serving in county jails, patrolling Malibu and South Central, and joining the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB/SWAT). He reflects on lessons learned—treating people with respect, continuous training, and teamwork—while sharing stories about full-time tactical operations, inter-agency training, and the challenges of high-risk warrants.
Beyond policing, George describes a personal passion: biking the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, a 2,700–3,000 mile self-supported adventure that tested endurance, exposed him to the kindness of strangers, and led to unexpected moments across the American West.
