On Sunday we continued on with our "greatest hits" series, looking at John 3:1-21. We spent our time talking about being a John 3:17 church. That is to say, instead of our focus being on the afterlife (and all of the unknowns), our calling is to be people of Jesus here and now and point to the life that he brings.
I did spend a bit of time in my message going into the complications of Bible translation and the debate as to who is speaking in part of chapter 3. Some helpful articles explaining the difference between the 1984 and 2011 NIV can be found right hereand also here.
