Before ACKO, she led content and social media for Mad Street Den. She has also been a writer for a long while now, with stories in Vogue Business, Fashionista, ELLE, BuzzFeed India, Architectural Digest, Verve India and Conde Nast Traveller, among others. She is also a regular contributor to The Hindu. She writes a popular newsletter on finance from a female perspective called Pennmoney.

Lavanya is a chartered accountant by qualification, and practises in Chennai.
