Welcome to Sur Sadhana with Gandhaar Madhyam. In this episode, we introduce to you — Raag Darbari Kanada. Darbari Kanada belongs to the Kanada family. The raag as we know today was introduced by Miya Tansen, the legendary 16th century composer in emperor Akbar's court. Because of being sung in the Darbar most often, the Kanada raag became Darbari Kanada. We begin the episode with a popular Ghazal, followed by the raag parichay and a bandish recital.
