Michi had a spontaneous miscarriage and was told on an ultrasound appt at 13 weeks, when the nurse and doctor realized there was no heartbeat. Michi was told she would need a procedure to remove the fetus, since it was no longer alive. Michi was shocked, devastated and confused. Miscarriages typically happen during the first trimester of pregnancy. Statistics reveal 10-15 women out of 100 will experience a miscarriage in the first trimester.
