Taking Note is a music podcast by Scottish fiddle/piano duo Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach.
Each episode features a unique collaboration and conversation with a guest artist from across worlds of folk, classical, jazz and electronica. The podcast is a celebration of new music, creative processes, and a wide range of artistic voices.
The guest artists - friends, colleagues, musical heroes, are asked to bring the seed of an idea to the table. Over the course of a day-long writing session, this was developed into a complete piece of new, collaborative music. Each writing session and the new music created then became a podcast episode
The podcast allows the listener the rare perspective of becoming a fly on the wall of the rehearsal room. It is an invitation into that process of collaboration, where conversation and ideas become new music, as well as a chance to hear the end results.

Josie’s original songs were receiving airtime on Radio 2 before she even left university, and by the time she had graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, audiences at festivals all over the world, from festival stages in Australia to basements in Glasgow, had come to recognise her as a vital figure within Scottish folk music.
The intervening years have led her to become an expert in crafting heart-warming songs which delicately balance traditional idioms and a contemporary outlook. Her own band offers a rich listening experience where captivating and melancholic vocal harmonies melt effortlessly into upbeat, searing melodies.
