Taking Note is a music podcast by Scottish fiddle/piano duo Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach.
Each episode features a unique collaboration and conversation with a guest artist from across worlds of folk, classical, jazz and electronica. The podcast is a celebration of new music, creative processes, and a wide range of artistic voices.
The guest artists - friends, colleagues, musical heroes, are asked to bring the seed of an idea to the table. Over the course of a day-long writing session, this was developed into a complete piece of new, collaborative music. Each writing session and the new music created then became a podcast episode
The podcast allows the listener the rare perspective of becoming a fly on the wall of the rehearsal room. It is an invitation into that process of collaboration, where conversation and ideas become new music, as well as a chance to hear the end results.

Quee is one of the most creative people we know. We first met and worked with him making music for an outdoor theatre show in the woods in the North East of Scotland, and have been lucky to continue hanging out and playing together since.
He’s a member of acid-croft legends Shooglenifty, and a composer of music and soundscapes for dance and theatre.
