Taking Note is a music podcast by Scottish fiddle/piano duo Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach.
Each episode features a unique collaboration and conversation with a guest artist from across worlds of folk, classical, jazz and electronica. The podcast is a celebration of new music, creative processes, and a wide range of artistic voices.
The guest artists - friends, colleagues, musical heroes, are asked to bring the seed of an idea to the table. Over the course of a day-long writing session, this was developed into a complete piece of new, collaborative music. Each writing session and the new music created then became a podcast episode
The podcast allows the listener the rare perspective of becoming a fly on the wall of the rehearsal room. It is an invitation into that process of collaboration, where conversation and ideas become new music, as well as a chance to hear the end results.

Last year, we released our fourth album, titled Spiorachas - A High Place. We wrote and recorded it in the winter, the quiet of the world around us gave us time and space of mind to really get into the music, to find ways of playing as freely and honestly as we could - chasing these qualities that define our music-making together.
For these episodes we thought we’d do a listen through of the album, with some introductions to and background about the music on there.
