Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) are closely related medical conditions. DVT occurs when a blood clot forms in the deep veins, usually in the legs. Incase this clot breaks off, it can travel through the bloodstream to the Lungs causing PE. PE is a serious medical condition that requires immediate treatment. When DVT is recognized earlier, it can be treated to avoid the risk of developing a PE. In this Episode our guest speaker Emily joins us with her expirience with DVT/PE.
