Northwestern Surveying and Engineering was incorporated in 1998 and has grown from a land surveying company into a broad range of services focusing on energy infrastructure, civil engineering, and surveying. Northwestern Surveying and Engineering is proud to be veteran-owned and licensed in eight states (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri). It offers veterans a preference for qualified personnel interested in joining their business team.

We met with Jason Kadelbach, who lived in Cloquet for ten years and is Vice President of the Eastern Division of Northwestern Surveying & Engineering, Inc. He shared an incredible need for surveyors, and his sons Caleb and Cody have joined the company. “This year, our Eastern Division office has done over 175 land surveys,” said Kadelbach. Northwestern Surveying and Engineering has strong relationships with local excavation companies, developers, cities, and major companies. 

Northwestern Surveying and Engineering has been involved in pipeline projects establishing the right-of-way, temporary workspace, new pumping stations, and alignment staking. They conduct ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Construction Surveys, and other services for national clients. They also conduct preliminary surveying, pipeline utility sweeping, construction staking, and as-built surveys for oil, gas, and power companies. They provide civil engineering design, land development plans, stormwater analysis, and design for multi-unit residential properties, schools, community and government buildings, parks, residential sub-divisions, commercial sites, and parking lots.
