The British Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, said the UK was not involved in the recent U.S. operation targeting Venezuela, including the reported capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Silvia Flores.

Addressing Parliament, Cooper said, “The United Kingdom played no role in the U.S. actions carried out over the weekend.”

“The United States had conducted airstrikes on Venezuelan targets and confirmed the detention of Maduro and his wife, who have been indicted on charges including narcoterrorism, drug smuggling, and weapons offences,” She added.
