Pastor Ted wrapped up Spiritual Street Smarts: How to Conquer in a Crooked Culture by teaching that God originally gave man dominion (Genesis 1:28), and through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit that dominion and authority over all the power of the enemy has been restored to believers. He explained that we’re not called to hide from culture but to shape it—as salt and light we slow the decay of a dying world, influence with integrity like Joseph, Daniel, and the three Hebrew boys, and obey God even when laws or pressure push the opposite direction. Dominion, he said, means refusing to imitate the world in order to win it—you cannot dominate what you imitate—so we rise above depression, sin, compromise, and poverty by covenant, and then help others out of what we’ve been delivered from. This dominion mindset is militant and active: we “occupy till He comes,” engaging in Kingdom business, winning souls, advancing the church, and treating every work of the devil (sickness, bondage, oppression) like an enemy to be driven out.
