TikTok has long been an entertaining, short-form video app with many different types of educational, life experiences, and funny moments shared on the platform. The app has also been an important medium in allowing indie artists to share their music with a wider and more relevant audience, including blowing artists up in some cases, such as @in.iko, @taiverdes, and @pinkpantheress. 

But with the ease of sharing content, comes the excessive promotion of new singles by artists backed by record labels. This includes utilizing popular influencers, micro-influencers, and even TikTok execs themselves (!!) to promote new music to the average TikTok user.
