In this final episode of Nancy’s reading from Chapter 12 of The Normal Christian Life by Watchman Nee, she closes with a deeply personal and piercing reflection on what it means to live in the continual light of God. The Father isn’t satisfied with outward strength, talent, or good works—He is after the source. Through the “flash” of His light, He exposes what is still powered by self and reveals what must come fully under the government of His Spirit.
Nancy reminds us that the cross doesn’t just deal with obvious sin but also with the subtle independence of the soul—the self-driven good that still resists full dependence on the Father. This is a call to ongoing surrender, to invite the Spirit’s continual illumination, and to allow the Father to express His life through us without mixture or striving.
