“We live in a time I think not of mainstream, but of many streams, or even, if you insist upon a river of time, that we have come to a delta, maybe even beyond delta to an ocean which is going back to the skies.”
-John Cage
This quote, I believe, truly embodies the idea of music today. Yet, this quote is even more applicable to world of “classical” music. There are so many different avenues of new classical music, that one must ask oneself, “That’s classical?” That is the idea that we try and explore every Sunday evening. Neo-classical, electro-accoustic, minimalism, soundscapes, and everything in between. Everything from Stravinsky to Eagle, Messiaen to Dallapiccola, Glass to Tüür, no musical stone is left unturned. So sit back, and enjoy the tunes.
