8 - AI and National Defense with Guest Noel Zamot

In this episode of The 4th Age, Noah and Marty meet up with author and former Commander of the Air Force's National Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) Noel Zamot to discuss AI and its intersection with our national security. One of Noel's many roles at the Air Force was finding ways to counter cyberattacks. He designed systems to be resilient even when under attack. This led to work on preventing hacking of aircraft. Naturally, in a world with potential AGI attackers, this is only becoming more necessary, and this is what we dive into.

Additionally, we touch on the following:

* Designing systems assuming there are bad actors already in and with the capability to still carry out missions despite that. * What happens when we use AI to fight / defend against AI? What happens to the roles of humans in these conflicts, especially when the fights are on timescales far too fast for us to keep up with or comprehend?
