Last week I talked about ABC traits and how the "A" traits are different when you take on a leadership role.
A friend of mine called me after the podcast and asked me if I was holding back one that I had spoken about in the past. I was. I left it out, focusing instead on the leadership qualities of being approachable, affable and accountable.
However, my friend my right, there is another "A" trait of TRULY GREAT LEADERS. Great leaders ALSO strive to become anonymous - they put all their energy into elevating their team, peers and just about everyone around them and say no to those opportunities to become the star.
I left it out because I know of few leaders that can resist the allure of fame. While it may be the most important trait in a GREAT LEADER, it is also the hardest to achieve.
Consider this story. Enjoy.
