Bethel means God's house. It is the spot in which Jacob saw the vision of the ladder from heaven. This episode talks about the return of Jacob to Bethel where he has first met God and where he had made a vow to Him. This story is found in Genesis 35.

Jacob then instructs his family to put away foreign gods, meaning idols whom they had in their tents, to clense themselves to be ready to worship the true God in Bethel. And it also in Bethel where God changed Jacob's name to Israel.

An important lesson here: Come to Christ. Put away all the idols you have in your possession and in your life and purify yourself. God is ready to transform your life.
