Abiola Ogunbekun, or Abby, is a certified 200-hour teacher with yoga nidra and prenatal/postnatal certifications. Not only does she teach at multiple studios/venues around Charlotte, but she also has a private studio in her home for teaching one-on-one and/or 2-3 person classes through her private business, Call Me Abby.
Her learnings enable her to teach both all levels and advanced yoga classes, while also offering occasional workshops on her countless yogic passions and areas of focus (prenatal/postnatal, yoga nidra, facial yoga, etc.). Abby’s goal as a teacher is to create peaceful yet empowering spaces where students can learn, grow, strengthen, and release - whether that's through vinyasa, restorative, meditation, breathwork, or mobility practices. Her classes include intentional & functional sequences of movements, while also recognizing that poses are just poses, and it's what happens on the inside that represents the heart of what yoga truly is." Listen in as BWWA CEO DeJa Love and guest Abiola Ogunbekun discuss Black yoga teachers and Black Women in yoga of all sizes.
