The Black Women's Wellness Podcast Mission is to help Black Women overcome stress by amplifying an array of wellness offerings.


Our Vision is to ensure that all Black Women live productive, meaningful, and robust lives unhinged by stress.


Our Guest for this episode is Dr. Courtney L. McCluney (she/her), who is an award-winning educator, researcher, consultant, and advisor. She is the founder of EquiWell Partners where she reimagines ways to foster equity and wellness in organizations. Her research on emotional tax and racial codeswitching has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, Forbes, the World Economic Forum, BBC and NPR. Dr. Courtney has also published research in multiple academic journals and regularly joins business podcasts and conferences to share commentary on equity and justice work in organizations. Trained as a social scientist, Dr. Courtney is a brilliant PhD, first generation college graduate from High Point, North Carolina who descended from enslaved Black people and dispossessed indigenous tribes. She is on the faculty at Cornell University's ILR School and research director with Loom the Culture Map, Inc. Dr. Courtney completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, earned her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Michigan, and BA in Psychology and Interpersonal/Organizational Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
