Lisa D. T. Rice is a social entrepreneur, independent political strategist, and public policy advisor. Recently elected as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in her hometown of Washington, DC, she advocates for cancer care policy; women’s leadership; democracy reform; and political innovation in the U.S.. She is a social justice mentor and advocate as well. Lisa serves on three nonprofit boards of directors. A frequent panelist, moderator, and keynote speaker on political innovation, electoral reform and women’s empowerment, Lisa is also nationally known as a quilter. She is currently writing a memoir (working title, “The Sixty-Four Days”), which centers her experiences on the 64 day from the day of George Floyd’s murder to the day Congressman John Lewis’ body was returned to the U.S. Capitol to lie in state. Lisa holds a master’s degree in Management from the MIT Sloan School and a B.A. degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University.
