Daniel Calderwood is one of my closest friends and together, we recently travelled to India for a 9-day meditation retreat in the foothills of the Himalayas. What followed was a journey of stillness, intensity, emotional release and unexpected self-discovery.
In this episode, we talk about:
- The mental and physical demands of doing 8 hours of meditation a day
- Intense emotional breakthroughs during our “rounding” sessions
- Cultural shocks, including witnessing an arranged marriage, a baptism and a cremation all at the same time on the banks of the Ganges, and
- Our biggest personal takeaways we’re bringing home, from self-compassion to the idea that doing less can actually give you more
This is a reflective and at times surreal conversation about spiritual discomfort, cultural contrast, and the inner peace that can come when you finally stop trying so hard.
Watch, listen, and let us know your biggest takeaway.
