The pandemic shifted everything for a lot of business owners. From a positive perspective, some business owners were forced to confront how they had been feeling about their businesses for a long time, and the pandemic was the catalyst to make a change.

Hilary McKown was an American living in Italy when the pandemic first hit, forcing her to close down the yoga studio she had worked so hard to build. She used this time to transform her business into something that would serve her clients more deeply. Today, she runs a remote business that allows her flexibility, and she no longer feels like a slave to her business.

In this episode, I speak with Hilary about why she ended up closing her yoga studio for good, the new way she serves her clients, and how much more joyful running her business is now. Hilary also shares her advice for other practitioners who want to take their businesses in a new direction.

About Hilary McKown:

Hilary is a practitioner and former owner of The Yoga Place in Milan, Italy. She now runs the Embodied Resilience online program, where she can make a more significant impact by helping others with nervous system regulation, trauma, and pain. Hilary is dedicated to working with all bodies, particularly those living with persistent pain or chronic or undiagnosed conditions.
