In 2018, 24-year-old Toyah Cordingley went for a walk with her dog on one of north Queensland's idyllic beaches. The next morning, her father found her body buried in the sand.
Police believe there was a confrontation that led to a "frenzied" attack, with the alleged killer fleeing the country the next day. But the accused says he's innocent and claims he fled because he witnessed two masked men attack Toyah, making him fear for his own life.
Rajwinder Singh was extradited from India to face the murder charge, and he is now fighting that charge before a jury trial in Cairns.
The Case Of Toyah's Murder will follow all the key evidence and cross-examinations with reporter Christopher Testa and host Stephen Stockwell. If you have questions for Chris and Stocky, send them to thecaseof@abc.net.au.
The Case Of is your eyes and ears inside the courtroom for Australia's biggest trials, unpacking major trials recently heard in court and cases in the headlines. This podcast will explain how it all works and answer your questions along the way.
