I recently came to terms with how social media has drastically increased my screen time and bad vision habits. After doom-scrolling on tiktok for several hours, a few months ago, I decided that it’s finally time to take action. Doing so was challenging for a couple of reasons: firstly, social media is the perfect distraction for me — it fills the silence during my commutes and gives me an instant dopamine rush whenever I feel bored. Secondly, a lot of my work deals with social media, which means there are limits to how much I can reduce. With these challenges in mind, in today’s episode, I dive into my relationship with social media (mostly tiktok) and how I’ve been trying to reduce my screen time.
