Singer-rapper Melissa Jefferson aka Lizzo was born in Detroit, grew up in Houston (where she got her moniker) and eventually moved to Minneapolis and collaborated with Prince.There, she rapped with a few hip-hop groups but was equally drawn toward the indie-rock world. If you have heard my interview with her, you can tell how far she has come as an artist and popularity. 2019 is her breakout year with the #1 single, Truth Hurts on billboard for weeks.
